Austin Johnson,15, spends much of his time at doctor’s appointments and physical therapy sessions as he continues to battle two life threatening conditions: a brain tumor and muscular dystrophy. In  March, Austin and his parents, Henry and Linda, left   behind the appointments and sessions to spend a week together in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Linda writes,






    Despite all of the worries back home, she continues,





  Austin loves horses and was so happy when he received the horseback riding gift cards that he  didn’t want to set them down.   While riding they met a lady who watched Austin and said that she


















  Although they did many things together like visit the Ripley’s Aquarium, play miniature golf and eat many big meals out, all while staying at a beautiful resort, it’s the small moments no one could plan that will never be forgotten. Linda writes,

With all the medical bills, we could not afford to leave [home] much less come to the beach, and this room was more than anyone could ever dream of.



“It’s so relaxing here…it’s not that we can forget about them but just for awhile it seems so far away…





had never seen a 15-year-old boy have so much fun. He had a smile from ear to ear.”

















The sound of the waves were just what Henry and I needed.
